.KTW I receives innovative WELL Health-Safety Rating certificate as first building in Poland
The .KTW I office building, located in the center of Katowice, was the first in Poland to obtain a new certificate created by the International WELL Building Institute. This document proves that the building has been perfectly prepared to function in pandemic conditions and that a number of solutions have been implemented to promote the health and safety of users and affect their well-being. The WELL Health-Safety Rating is a certification system developed by the IWBI (International WELL Building Institute) in response to the Covid-19 threat. It focuses on the health and safety of people staying and working in buildings. It is awarded to existing facilities on the basis of a thorough analysis of the decisive parameters, e.g. on the degree of risk of disease spread and the comfort of work in the facility. The assessment covers primarily building equipment and installations, protocols of their maintenance, operational rules, and emergency plans in the event of the emergence of crisis situations.
"We started the .KTW I certification process in September. Together with the building management team, we analyzed the possibility of meeting the individual WELL Health-Safety Rating criteria. Already then it turned out that many of the required solutions work in the office building, and in the case of a few, only a slight adjustment of procedures is needed. emphasize that the certificate was awarded after the initial assessment of the documentation. This clearly confirms that .KTW I is a facility where the safety and health of employees are given priority," Aleksandra Prawda, LEED Team Lead, Green Building Specialist, WELL AP, LEED AP ID + C, Fitwel Ambassador at JW. + A, commented.
