On Sunday morning, the Covid-19 vaccine was administered to the first person in Poland. It is the head nurse from the hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw. Four more people took the vaccine afterward. Registration for vaccinations for people from outside the priority groups is to start on January 15.
First of all, people from priority groups will be vaccinated, then all those who will be able to make an appointment on a specific date from January 15, among others, through the hotline 989.
"Vaccines reached the nodal hospitals on Sunday between 8 am and 12 pm. Of the more than 300,000 people who have reported so far, 10,000 have been vaccinated.
During the first delivery, we will vaccinate as many people as the number of vaccines arrived. For subsequent shipments, the vaccines will be split in half due to the fact that the vaccine is a two-dose. Thanks to this, we protect ourselves in the event of unexpected events," Michał Dworczyk, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister noted.
More vaccines will come to the country at the turn of the year. It is supposed to be 300,000 doses, so a vaccine for 150,000 people (two vaccinations are needed over a period of three weeks to gain immunity).
According to plans, one and a half million doses are to be delivered to Poland in January. Then, on January 15, mass vaccination will begin.
